It's Half Term Again!

Well .... it has been a long time since I was last on here and half term has already arrived! This weekend has been a very busy one what with a house full of visitors & really crappy weather.

Everything here is absolutely fine. The kids and animals are great & the farm is good but the Sloe Gin, Vodka & wine is fermenting VERY slowly (1st batch ready 3 days before Christmas!).

I have loads to tell but need to find time to sit at this pc & relate all that has been happening. I will do it soon so keep watching this Blogg for updates!

Hope everyone is ok & that life is treating you all well!

Happy Halloween!

Update!

Well, it's been a little while since I last updated. I have started back at Coleg Ceredigion to finish my Office Skills & Technology course!

Tonight I went for a little stroll into the fields & collected the 1st batch of Sloe's! They are in the freezer as we speak & will be on their way to being gin or wine by the weekend! Watch this space for the Christmas batch! Will let you know how it goes! LOL

I'd like you to meet 'Dot'. She is our farm dog. She is a very respectable 16 years old.. Ethan & I clocked her with the speedo on the quad bike at 35 mph last year! Unfortunately she had a stroke earlier this year and she now has trouble keeping up! Posted by Picasa
These are my 2 best girls! Meet Dizzy (black) & Wizzy (black & white). They were about 12 weeks old in this photo!

Failing Astrologer!!!!

Well, after a non-eventful 1 1/2 hours I saw 6 Piscid meteors! I also managed to get a look at a planet but I have absolutely no clue which one it was!!

I have to say the meteors were absolutely amazing. They looked completely different to a normal shooting star because of the colour difference. These definately had a distinct orange glow to them in the tail ... indicating, I think larger or nearer objects .... I don't know, I'm no astrologer!

The moon was also fantastic and HUGE! Apparently it is the 18 1/2 year cycle of the moon and it is closer tonight than for the next 18 1/2 years! True? ..... I don't know! I'm sure someone will let me know!

Overall it was definately an interesting if not different way to spent the evening!

Well I'm off to bed with hot chocolate & a hot water bottle! Good Night! XX

I have just taken this piccy about 10 minutes ago with my crappy little camera!

Meteors in Wales

Hello to all! Just a quick update. Tonight I'm sitting in my garden waiting for a good view of the Piscids ..... a usually pretty good meteor shower!
The peak of the Piscids occurs from about 11th September until the 20th, producing a modest five meteors per hour (the average number you can see on any clear night of the year). Unfortunately, moonlight partly obscures the shower in the early morning as well.

There's no need to worry if you do not know where Pisces is (this is the constellation where the meteors seem to be coming from), because the 'shooting stars' can appear anywhere in the sky. It's only when you trace any paths back will you arrive at the constellation in question.
As we have an exceptionally clear (but very cold) evening here in West Wales I thought I might take a look thru my telescope which has not seen the outside of the attic in 2 years!
I'll keep you posted & get some piccies if I can!

This is my home! Photo courtesy of Steve!

Ethan & his friend Katie after rolling in mud in our fields! Yuck! Muddy Monkeys!
This is Ian, me & my son Ethan. The worlds worst family portrait! LOL I blame Steve because he was supposed to take a decent picture of us! It was taken by Shan, Ian's cousin!

My mates Jaqs & Steve at Mwnt Beach when Steve was visiting!
